ANGELA TRINDADE AUFGELISTET INDIEN INDIAN HOCH AUKTION RECORD BONHAMS BIS 10K USD !
It was painted in 1950. It is in very good condition.
The watercolor measures 14" x 12". And very nicely framed in a period frame measures 16 1/2" x 14 1/2".
Angela Trindade is well-listed; I've seen auction estimates to $9,876. She comes from a very artistic Indian family; her father was Antonio Xavier Trindade, listed to $91,962.
Ms. Trindade passed away in 1980; I believe she was a talented artist, and her auction records will continue to rise.

I believe this is a very significant painting, in Ms. Trindade's oeuvre, because it dates to 1950, and as such is an extremely early example (perhaps the earliest) of her evolution to Christian-themed painting.
"In the late 1950s, she evolved a style of her own as she used the Trinity (or triangle) in her painting to symbolise the brotherhood of man" explains historian and author, Fátima da Silva Gracias. Recognition of Angela`s talent came as early as her college days. The first Indian woman artist to be granted a Fellowship by the Sir J J School of Art and Gold medalist the All India Women's Artists Exhibition, Angela's highest honour came from Pope Pius XII, who awarded her the papal decoration Pro-Ecclesia et Pontifice, for her contributions to religious art. Acclaimed the world over for an immensely diverse oeuvre of work that included portraits, landscapes, everyday scenes and still life, Angela is recognised as one of India's foremost artists to Indianise Christian art..."
